Trying to decide on flooring for my kitchen?
Ok, I have a small kitchen (not much more than a galley kitchen, with a small dining area where there's a sliding door out to the deck). Right now it's pretty 60's country. I would like to update the whole thing, but want to start on the floor, as the current linoleum looks dirty no matter how many times I mop, and is starting to peel up. I've thought of tile, wood, laminate, or cork. I prefer the idea of economical, but I don't want to sacrifice quality either (especially if pots/pans/gles/plates/etc. get dropped, I want it to hold up). I've heard cork is pretty resilient as well as environmentally friendly (which would be an added bonus), but I haven't liked the patterns I've seen so far. Anyway, any ideas of something that would be economical, resilient, and up-to-date?????
