A question for you atheist?

Im religious and I read Richard Dawkins book, he says that there is plenty of evolutionary evidence that opposes the existence of GOD? Was he smoking drugs, or sipping on a Pina Colada, because how can he possibly say that evolution disproves religion. It nor proves nor disproves. Why is he, (and other atheist) are so high and mighty when they say that evolution totally contradicts that the existence of a higher being. Are there any out there that think it supports it?
