Question about getting wisdom teeth out?

My teeth were severely (horizontally...the worst scenario) impacted...my Doc suggested I stay awake so I could brace myself when he had to exert extreme pressure to pull them out...it's a good thing I did cause he almost had to put his foot on my chest he was pulling so hard...no way he could have done that had i been out and limp as a noodle....all I can say is don't do what I did after the operation (I said screw the pain pill prescription...I was just out of the Marines and felt I was immune to pain...lol, and just went home and went to sleep, well when i woke up after the Novocaine had worn off I was in so much pain in brought tears to my eyes)...get the prescription filled...bottom line, I never want to be put under unless it is absolutely necessary.
