Are Gensing and Ginseng the same thing or are they two different spellings of the same things?

Are Ginseng and Gensing two separate plants that have different effects? Or is one a wrong spelling or something? Living in Queensland Australia, how can I grow them, should they be prepared in any way before I consume them?
